What's Keeping You Awake?

Relaxation
What's keeping you up at night?

If you find yourself tossing and turning, struggling to get to sleep, or lying awake at night, there are simple, highly effective techniques which can help you to relax and get a good night's sleep.

Some of the relaxation techniques I use include guided visualization and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Both of them are very easy to use, and can help with relaxing the body's muscles and calming the mind.

People often struggle with visualization, but having a script for the visualization can be extremely helpful. You can picture yourself in a relaxing environment, or just relaxing your body and getting a good night's sleep.

EFT. sometimes known as "meridian tapping", is also highly effective. It can be used for relaxing your body or for addressing the source of your anxiety or sleep problems. This could be, for example:
  • a noisy environment
  • a change of schedule
  • money worries
  • exam stress, or
  • something else preying on your mind.
EFT can also be used with children, babies and pets.
